Nurse Staffing

Pana Community Hospital Nursing Staff strives to provide our patients and families nursing care with heart... this is accomplished through our staff’s nursing care, compassion, competence, and excellent nurse to patient care ratios.

Illinois Law requires hospitals (Hospital Report Card Act) to abide by regulations for reporting nursing care data on a quarterly basis to a state data repository. This data, while meaningful to some, does not portray the caring essence delivered by our nursing staff to patients and families in the communities we serve. This link is available for review by our patients/families at any time and we welcome questions or concerns you may have about our nurse staffing levels and/or patient care assignments.

Our nurse leadership team assures appropriate nurse to patient staffing ratios. Ratios are based upon the nursing needs of the patient and the correct assignment of nursing staff based upon the skill level of the staff and the acuity level of the patient care unit. In compliance with the Hospital Report Card Act (210ILCS86), the Chief Nurse Executive or designee shall provide information related to questions or concerns about our staffing levels or patient care assignments.
