Foundation Donor Wall Being Planned

Foundation Donor Wall Being Planned

May 22nd, 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has everyone at Pana Community Hospital very busy, and the Foundation office is no different.  With the completion of the hospital expansion and the PCH Building Project Capital Campaign, the PCH Foundation has a very special project they are working on.  The support of our community during the historic expansion project and capital campaign was nothing short of amazing, and the Foundation is recognizing the individuals, businesses and organizations that generously donated to the project! All cumulative donations starting at $500 will be recognized on a new donor wall that is being designed now.  “The design is different than any other recognition wall the Foundation has used in the past.  We wanted something special, because everyone that contributed to the project is special and appreciated,” says Kim Pollman, Executive Director of the Foundation.   It will be a permanent fixture to recognize the significance of the project and everyone that was a participant.  It’s a piece of art.

Along with the donor recognition wall for the PCH Building Project, the Foundation is also developing new recognition method for those who have supported the Foundation in the past and that continue to give in the future.  “Every donation we receive, big or small has a huge impact on programs and services at the hospital, and we want to recognize everyone who has supported the Foundation and the Hospital over the years,” states Kim Pollman.

The very first donation that provided the means for there to be a community hospital today is that of Dr. Jacob Huber.  Having a state of the art hospital in the Pana community was a dream of Dr. Huber, which spurred him to bequeath money in his will to construct the facility.  There will be a special memorial plaque designed with this project to commemorate his generosity and the importance his vision has on the hospital today.  In addition, there will be a memorial plaque to recognize the Siegert doctors that spent years serving our community.  Dr. Rudy Siegert and Dr. Fritz Siegert founded the Pana Medical Group, a group practice that continues today, and provided nearly 100 years of combined medical care to our community.  Because of their impact on the medical care in our community, the Foundation has a special fund known as the Siegert Medical Equipment Fund.  Donations to this fund are specifically used to equip the physicians on the hospital’s medical staff with the most effective and modern medical, surgical, diagnostic and treatment equipment available.

The design and installation is expected to be complete in late June and will be located in the lobby of the new front entrance.  Pana Community Hospital is very excited to unveil the donor wall upon completion and will hopefully plan a celebration in the near future.
